After talking with my friends and looking at whats available in th shop – i bought a Canon EOS 450D.

I didn’t have any SLR camera before, except an old Russian Zenith (i don’t remember the model), so this is my first normal digital SLR camera!

So far I like it very much! The kit lens isn’t that great, but i don’t have money for a good right now, maybe in the far far future I’ll be able to spend money on some good lenses

Oh, and that’s the main reason I’ve looked for a new photo gallery! I used gallery2 before, but the code sucked and it was a big-fat piece of software so in some time i started to dislike it. Now I’ve looked at over open-source photo galleries and selected… gallery 3! It’s a new release which was rewritten from scratch and is more lightweight.

We’ll see if it’ll fit me

Picasa is really nice, but it has a limit of 100 Mb which is really small.

Gallery 2, last time i checked, was a lot-of-stuff-in-one-place-with-difficult-and-crappy-code-inside kind of project. I’ll take a look if it got better recently.

P.S. Perl/php/c/c++ prefered. Java/Ruby/python isn’t prefered either (could be the client part, but not the server part).

So, a lot changed since my last post.

First of all, i’m already living at my new place. A lot of money spent on it, and still a lot of money to spend on mortgage Most of my friends already were at my new appartments, but if anyone didn’t – i’m always free in the evening to drink a beer or two and spend some time with my old friends

Secondly, i left Baltic Data Center. I’ve only been there for 10 months, but i’ve got an offer from another company and accepted it. BDC is a nice company, so don’t think i left it because there was something wrong in it.

So, as i mentioned before, i’ve got an offer from another company. Since october 18th i started working at Barclays Bank.

I’ve been sent to UK for a training period and i’m currently located in Knutsford, near Manchester. If anyone would like to meet for a beer – i’d be really glad to do so! I’ll be in Knutsford until December 18th.

Knutsford is a nice little town. The only problem is – it’s REALLY small. I don’t have what to do in this town in the evenings, so i just stare at tv/notebook every evening. It’s almost winter and it gets really dark in the evening, so walking around in the town isn’t that attractive.

I’m staying at Danebury apartments. It’s a nice place. The only trouble is – we’re staying in Tabley apartments, and it has 2  bedrooms – one really really small with a single bed and one is normal/bigger with a double bed. Guess in which i’m staying

Oh, and do you remember the wine i did in the last year? I’ve drank it all allready. But i’m brewing about 30 more liters!

I haven’t written here for almost three months. It’s time to write something…

So, what’s “new”?

• I started working part-time at Vilnius College as a laborant. I want to make studying there better by changing some things out there. I’ll write about it when i’ll finish (not soon).
• I’ve changed my job from Hostex to Baltic Data Center. Baltic Data Center is part of TEO group – Lithuania’s largest Internet Service Provider.
• You’ll call me an iFan, but i’ve changed my old Sony Ericsson T610 to … an iPhone 3G. And yes, i DID use the phone function already ! P.S. my number changed, so if anyone wants to update my number – drop me an email.
• Remember my vine? I’ve made 30 Liters of it… less than 15 liters left already. Atelast everyone who tried it said it’s real good! I liked it too.
• I’ve got a Cisco Catalyst 2900XL at home for free, hooray!
• Didn’t I say Happy New Year yet?! Happy New Year!

I think that will be enough for today.

It’s a MacBook! Yes, yes, a MacBook.

It’s a white 13″, 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo with 2 GB of RAM, 160 GB SATA 5.4k rpm’s, a 8x superdrive and Intel GMA x3100 144 MB video card.

Almost everybody who i’ve told that i bought a Mac asked me what OS will i be using…

Mostly, i use FreeBSD (yes, on desktop/laptop), but this time i’m trying to stick to Mac OS. It’s quite nice, stable, and almost usable… although there are still some little things i have to get used to.

If i won’t like it, i’ll try get back to FreeBSD, but so far i’m liking it.

Oh, and also, now when i have a new laptop – maybe i’ll be writing more posts to my blog (famous last words).

Co-workers say that it was yummy yummy and they wouldn’t mind to eat more of that

I spent the biggest part of time at getting the juice out of those damn apples (i’m soooo tired of that).

Anyway, just a few hours ago i’ve filled the bottles … now time to wait…

I’ve made 20 liters – two bottles x 5l, and one x 10l..

If at least one of them will become something which could be called vine – i’ll be happy!

I don’t want to tell the name of the place, because it will be easily located. And i don’t want to see it ruined the next time i’ll go there. Lithuanian people like to ruin beautiful landscape.

Our train left at 12:00 and the trip lasted for more than an hour. We got to the place at about 13:15. Then – 1-2 kilometers of walking.

My friends couldn’t resist collecting some fungus on our way to the destination, so it took as another half an hour or even a bit more to walk just 1-2 kilometers.

Anyway, we stayed there for the night in our tents. We thought that it will be very cold, but somehow i didn’t feel any cold at all!

Sad that our other friends didn’t stay with us for the night, but … well… it was great even thought there were only 4 of us!
